Church of the Nativity Destroyed

On Monday, Day of the Lord April 8 2002, the Israeli army fired at the Church of the Nativity, the Holiest of Sites for Christendom. The most sacred place where Catholics, Orthodox, and Protestants believe Jesus was born, has been desecrated, destroyed, defiled. This unfortunately not the only sacred place Sharon has attacked and openly mocked. The Palestinian revolt started when Sharon the Butcher arrogantly marched into Al Aqsa, the Holiest of places for Muslims.

Time and again, the Israeli army has been firing on mosques and churches, claiming that they were fired upon. First, one must wonder why the fourth most powerful army, fully equipped with M-16s, grenade launchers, and a modern nuclear arsenal, feels threatened by a handful of men armed with WWII-era snipers. One also wonders whether Sharon's minions even grasp the concept of the sanctity of places of worship and refuge.

The Christians as well as the Muslims have always upheld the sacred duty to use holy places to give refuge and safe haven to those who are persecuted and attacked. This tradition have always been followed and respect by Christian and Muslim clergy, whether the person who takes refuge was even a declared criminal or not.
