West Bank Fatah leader Marwan Barghouti was arrested Monday in Ramallah by an elite IDF unit. IDF sources confirmed that Barghouti had been arrested.
Israel was on a manhunt for the Tanzim head since the start of West Bank military operations on March 29. The efforts began with an attempt to capture him in a Palestinian security installation in the West Bank town of Beitounia, but Barghouti managed to escape.
