March 10 — Israeli missiles demolished Yasser Arafat’s seaside office building in the Gaza Strip early Sunday in retaliation for two deadly attacks by Palestinian militants that left at least 13 Israelis dead. Saturday’s carnage, extending the bloodiest week in 17 months of violence, again threatened to bury a tentative U.S. initiative aimed at restoring some semblance of calm to the region.
