800 Palestinians, Mostly Civilians Taken Hostages

JERUSALEM (PINA): Up to 800 Palestinians were detained by the Israeli army, which currently invades the northern West Bank refugee camp of Tulkarm.

The status of those detained remains unknown considering that Israeli sources indicated that they won’t be put on trials.

Palestinians on other hand believe that the hundreds of Palestinian refugees rounded up are hostages and demand their immediate release.

Although, 60 of those detained are PA police officers, the great majority of them are beloved to be civilians, many of whom fought the battle to defend their camp.

All 800 have been sent to Israel for interrogation.

The number was first put at 400, then raised by AFP sources into 600, and finally according to Al Jazeera, the estimate now stands at 800.
